DIGIPREP 250 / 300 preparation system

DIGIPREP preparation systems are designed for fully automated materialographic sample preparation for consistent and reproducible specimen quality.

DIGIPREP´s automatic head controls the force applied precisely and specimens are prepared exactly the same way every time, independent of operator skills.

With the ability to store and recall preparation programs on the LCD screen, same consistent results are obtained. High level of automation improves the efficiency and gives the operator free time for other tasks in the laboratory. Efficiency is further increased by adding DOSIMAT Peristaltic Dispensing Unit for automation and control of consumable consumption.

The system is especially suitable for quick changing system (magnetic or adhesive grinding and polishing fixing) for diamond grinding plates, grinding paper fixed on metal plates. The diamond grinding disc saves up to 50 % of the costs of consumables (comparing with grinding papers)!

DIGIPREP 250 programmable and fully automatic grinding & polishing system
(optional: DIGIPREP 300)

  • Base Unit with 0.75 HP (1.0) motor, variable wheel speed 50 - 600 rpm, quite belt drive, complementary or contra rotational direction, soft start and stop, with working kit

  • 250 mm diameter aluminium wheel (300)

  • splash guard

  • 250 mm special magnetic foil (quick changing system) (300)

  • 250 mm thin metal plate (300)

  • with water supply and drain tubes, air supply tubes

  • automatic specimen mover head, microprocessor controlled, programmable sample preparation parameters, central and / or individual force application, LCD screen, steel mounting column specimen holder rotating at 150 rpm, 90 Watt DC motor, quick-locking swing mounted design, audible warning signal, with holding chuck, LUBOMAT integrated lubricant dispenser with gravity feed and flow adjustment valve

The programmable specimen mover of the DIGIPREP system is microprocessor controlled. The complete system will be programmed and controlled by this user friendly electronic. The system is designed for a high number of preparations for metallographic, mineralogical or ceramic specimens with high, reproducible quality. The automatic head supports single force loading of the specimen as well as the central applying of force for clamped specimens (up to 6 standard or individual shaped). With the single system you may prepare a single (or up to 6 specimens at the same time) WITHOUT a dummy – specimen. With central force you have benefit in handling: Force loading / unloading, removal / inserting and cleaning of all clamped specimen with a single click. The flexible equipment grants a high number of specimens you are able to prepare within short time and with less steps of handling as well as the highest known quality.

The automatic head is mounted on a strengthened steel column which is mounted directly at the base frame of the body of the grinding machine. The applied force (single- or central force) are applied with pneumatic pressure controlled by electronic pressure converter. The system is mounted in a GPR glass fibre plastic housing which is equipped with a foil key front panel and LCD display. The automatic head can be positioned with a quick clamping system. When starting the preparation sequence the grinding and polishing process starts with a reduced starting-force. This will increase continuously within a short time um the maximum adjusted force. At the end of the grinding / polishing sequence the applied force will be reduced down to 75 % of the adjusted values. For the system there are a great number of different specimen holder for different specimen shapes or / and central / single force applying systems available.

All preparation parameters can be stored at a program number. Each program can be stored with an individual program name like “low alloyed carbon steel” / “brass” / “AL-SI Alloy”… Following parameters can be adjusted / stored (for up to 6 steps: each set with different settings): applied force, grinding time, rotating speed of grinding disc, rotation direction, type of load applying (central / single force). Additional the optional DOSIMAT will be controlled.

The preparation conditions will be entered into the user panel, stored into the RAM and displayed on the LCD-panel. For to start a preparation sequence the only thing you have to do is to chose the type of load applying (single / central), to choose the required (already stored) program (program name or number) and push the start button. After finishing the grinding / polishing sequence the process stops automatically and gives you an audible signal: Sequence ready …

The DOSIMAT peristaltic dosing system is an optional accessory for DIGIPREP systems. The DOSIMAT is a microprocessor controlled suspension dosing system. The excellent advantage is the time programmable / program controlled dosing of diamond suspensions. By using this automatic equipment also the consumption of the expensive diamond grinding suspension can be optimised as well as the labour cost for the preparation of high numbers of specimens. Dosing parameters to be adjusted: frequency, duration, type of suspension (max. 4 suspensions) etc. The programming will be done / is implemented into the microprocessor of the DIGIPREP system. High quality peristaltic pumps grant a high precision volume of dosing. The DOSIMAT contents three peristaltic pumps for exact dosing of diamond grinding and polishing suspension and an additional pump for aluminium oxide grinding and lubrication. The fluid will be dropped exact to the place where it is needed
