Modernisation for Tensile and Universal testing machines
Since
1988 we modernised more than 1000 machines

Modernisation of universal testing machine
LOSENHAUSEN UHP 60 - 600 kN - new cabinet - new (low noise)
pump - integrated PC, monitor and keyboard
(since 2005 we only use TFT monitors) |
Modernisation universal testing machine
ZWICK 1454 - 20 kN - clip on extensometer MFA2 - wedge grip
heads R+K RKS-Serie - integrated PC, monitor and keyboard
(since 2005 we only use TFT monitors) |
Modernisation of testing machine:
When a modernisation of a testing machine is done the software is
the only part the end user does have to handle with. All other
components of this modernisation (except the additional
extensometer) stand back: The complete machine has to run in proper
conditions and within a recommended quality.
If the software (as the only front end for the testing technician)
is not in high quality and user friendly the daily works will get an
uncomfortable and tough.
Our customer appreciates especially the rational and easy to use
software: “The software does not content features I don’t like
to use: Only inserting the specimen number and dimensions and up it
goes…)
With only a few mouse click and entering a minimum of information’s
a test (tensile, compression, flexure) is ready to run. With no
other available software it is more easy to run a test than with
software Unitest (stand alone machines).<
Automatic export of
the results, storing the results into integrated data base,
statistics incl. CP + CPK – evaluation are fundamental feature.
German, European and international standard will supports as well. |

In 1998 we changed from analogue technique to digital electronic. In
1999 / 2000 we extended this package also for to control the testing
machines. The success of the modernisation Unitest is based especially
because of the very comfortable using of the software, the solid
technique and not at least because of the best price-performance ratio.
Why is system Unitest less expensive
than other systems on the market?
Because of its modular construction this system can be configured exact
to your needs: You don’t have to pay for components you don’t need. The
electronic and the system is flexible enough to implement also you used
equipment. Different to other supplier we are able to minimize the costs
because we are using you old equipment like load cells, oil transducers,
stroke measuring probes and components. The biggest advantage in price
of course is to implement your used extensometer. Additional at our
system it is NOT a standard to change components which are still
running: We use the still running components like motors, motor driver,
pumps … (limiting your investment).
Does a modernisation of you testing machine makes sense (commercial)?
At this place we like to mention that not every time a modernisation is
a best way to get a modern machine. Only in single cases (when several
components of the machine like extensometer, load cells, clamping heads
can be used for modernisation) a modernisation of a small machine <
25 kN is suitable. Machines for small ranges we offer as new
equipment form
GALDABINI starting from € 15,000.00(depending on the additional
equipment). See also
GALDABINI new machines Hydraulic machines: If a hydraulic machine
should be controlled by the software (changing from hand controlled
valves to electronic valves) the commercial boarder to modernise this
machine starts at 100 or 200 kN. This because also the complete control
system has to be replaced. Often the pump itself (and the housing)
should be replaced. But a 100 kN machine form GALDABINI starts at
21,000.00 €…
Why is it interesting to modernise a testing machine?
Measuring technique:
mechanic force indicator
© reducing the
works in front of the test (choosing the measuring range), xy-plotter
© Errors from
reading, calculating and transmitting will be eliminated
© testing
technician will save working time (no evaluation of the graph)
© rational
documentation of the results inside database and as print out
certificate
© data export to
QM-systems or legacy systems
© reducing the
maintenance for mechanical system (no wear out of probes)
© less expensive
calibration: only one force range from 1-100 %
Which systems for your machine + your requirements is the best choice?
Basically there are two different electronics available: - the
analogue system Unitest-A (only data acquisition – no control of the
machine - the digital system Unitest-M (electronic for data
acquisition + optional control).
Variants of the electronic: |
Unitest- A
Analogue
data acquisition For older – hydraulic – machines we recommend
(if machine until now was controlled by manual hand valves) the
systems Unitest-A. With this equipment you can realise a low cost
updating. But this system can’t be extended for to control the
machine. You have to be sure that a control of the machine
(speed, force control …) NEVER will be necessary. If you are not
sure please choose system Unitest-M
|
Unitest-
M
Measuring (digital) This
modern electronic is a state of the art system with integrated
up to 5 measuring channels and additional I/O for control
information’s.
With the version Unitest-M a modernisation is possible similar
inexpensive (as Unitest A) when it is not required to control
the machine (only data acquiesce). The benefit of this
digital electronic is to extend this system into an active
system for to control the machine. (see additional packages
HR or SR). Optional
connection to extensometer (also with auto – le / knife distance
/ opening + closing the arms), control of hydraulic clamping
heads, control of pneumatic clamping heads, connection to fine
measuring gauges and other.

Unitest-HR
HydraulicRegulation
(control) (This extension
requires the basic system Unitest-M) This additional equipment
is required when the machine has to be controlled by the
software and electronic. It is especially for hydraulic machines
and contents additional electronic. Further on the old control
system (mostly hand valves) will be replaced by special valve
block, high pressure filter system, servo valve, volume control
valve, quick release valve, overload protection valve and
blocking valve (quick stop for piston) |
Unitest-SR
SpindeltriebRegulation
(control) - This extension requires the basic system
Unitest-M - obliged equipment for spindle machines
With this extension a mechanical testing machine get the
function for to control the machine. The additional electronic
controls the machine by feeding the motor driver with signal
+ 10 V. |

Please send us some photos of your equipment – in nearly every case we
are able to identify your equipment and configuration. So we are able to
prepare a detailed offer for this machine and your requirements of the
test. For the different machines there are different solutions
available: Starting from the basic (analogue) electronic (only for
data acquisition with a manual controlled machine) up to a full
controlled testing machine with individual control of the extensometer
and electronic control of hydraulic heads
